I really hate to do this, because the first purchase I did with Tim was a good one. However, I went back this past summer (2017) to look at a car he had on the lot, with a little body damage that he was going to fix before purchase. I drove the car for the test drive and loved it. After I waited a couple weeks for the body work to be fixed, I then went back to look at and drive again to make sure things were right. I was told by Tim that I didn't need to drive it again to have it checked out, that if I didn't trust his word, the car was not for sale. He then drove off the lot saying nothing else, and would not reply to any phone calls or texts. No very happy, not the way to treat return buyers, especially when I had told everyone in the past how wonderful he was to trade with .... Well, needless to say, I'm not saying that anymore. Just keeping my mouth shut except for this review.
I went to Zionville Used Cars to test drive some Subarus and ended up falling in love with one the same day. They were asking $10,000 for it, which was about $3,000 less than KBB value. After I told him (Tim Cook) that I wouldn't be trading anything in for it, he automatically dropped $1,000. I couldn't believe what a good deal it was. I told him that I definitely wanted it, but I needed to figure out where the money would be coming from. That same day I came out and took it for another drive to thoroughly check it out. I figured out that there was a tiny chip in the windshield and I thought that it needed new brakes. After I talked with Tim about this, he took off another $250.The next day I gave him $250 to hold onto it for me while I could figure out financing. He ended up holding it for about a week. When I finally came to get it, he had it ready with it's 30 day tags and all the paperwork filled out. He even stayed at work until past 6:30 to wait for me. Everything took less than 20 minutes and a I drove away with a new car. I took it to my mechanic in town the next day so he could take a look at it and tell me if everything was in good shape. He gave it a clean bill of health and told me I got a good deal. I feel like I got a great deal. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. They are friendly, reasonable and totally flexible. Tim Cook is a great person to do business with.
LOVE LOVE MY 2001 SUBARU FORESTER! After a wreck in 2013, I came here with my heart set on a Forester and I got it! I got a one owner Forester with 82,000 miles for a great price! These guys are great! No pressure, hassle, or bull. My Forester is still running great! Drive it every single day. These guys are the most honest in the business.
